Moonlight Picture by Will Matthews

The picture is one of gloom and sadness. Three boys are playing in the moonlight. One decided that the best mode of transportation was not merely walking, and wants to have a more exciting adventure. One of the boys is jumping off the prow of the ship, with no worries or cares in the world and nothing on his mind but the joy that is sure to come when he finally hits his icy destination. Another child is climbing up the roping on the side of the ship, eager for one more chance to give in to his wild side. Little do they know that their current situation is lurking beneath them, showing all the sadness and regret in their lives, a perfect double image. Almost as if there is a demon threatening to steal the joy and happiness from their lives and pull them down into a sad, horrible doom.
