The Church by Steven Pappas

The sound of bells ringing in the distance fills your ears. You see many farms with goats and sheep along the way. The scent of salt and wildflowers fills your nose as you walk along. Some of the people around you have come to see famous people while others have come for other reasons. The acolytes prepare for the people that they will serve. As you approach, the building shimmers in the morning light. As everyone files in you stare at the beautiful pictures shown all around you. You can see many precious jeweled artifacts. You can hear a soft hum from up above you. As you walk into the main room you can’t help but admire the pictures on the walls. As the sun shines through the windows, the characters on the pictures seen to come alive. One thing that you notice are the few numbers of seats that there are. As more people start to file in, you take one of the few seat right before the service begins.
