Stay Inside By Amanda Johansson

Autumn is dark, autumn is dreary.
Sometimes at night, it can be quite eerie.

When it is daylight, we can go out
and Play.
But when the sun disappears,
This is what Mom'll say:

"Don't stay out late or the tree
will grow faces.
Don't stay out late or the wind
will follow you places.

"Because when it's autumn and
the trees don't have leaves
it's always good to stay inside please."

Mon knows what's right so
listen to her.
P.S. It's cold so why go outside?
Brrrr!

I know it's silly.

  1. I love the voice in the poem. It is one of the most descriptive poems I have heard yet. It is descriptive when you say "the trees will grow faces" and "the wind will follow you places". Keep posting these poems; they bring me delight!

  2. This is amazing, Amanda! You really know how to write creatively. You're words are awesome and you can tell that one day you could be a professional poet!
