I am pleased to announce that today is the 6th of November! You might ask why this is important, and to be honest, it's not. However, because today is the 6th, a week from today is the 13th. This brings us to today's announcement.
NEXT WEEK IS 13 DAY!
Basically, I am officially requesting that every reader submits at least one random list that contains 13 items (just post it as a comment). The goal is to have 12 random lists, and 1 list about...why people should read Lucky 13! I also ask that you submit reasons for this list.
Now it is time to introduce our topic for today. Our topic is Random-Competion-For-No-Apparent-Reason-At-All Competions. (For future notice, this will be abbreviated as RCFNARAAC*.) This competition was created was a little over a week ago. You can see this "historic" post below. The part we're interested in is in bold at the end of the article.
http://honors9th.blogspot.com/2010/10/lucky-13.html
This tells us just exactly what an RCFNARAAC is. It is a random competion for no apparent reason at all. Surprise! The careful reader will also notice that it is, in fact, a writing competition.
The saga continues with my next article. In this one, Jasmine Crespo took 1st place! (Of course she was the only entrant, but that's not my point.) In true Lucky 13 style, Jasmine's story made absolutely no sense whatsoever. You can read her story below. Warning: It is not for the weak or the headache prone.

And what does this tell us about RCFNARAAC's? It tells us that this wonderful competion gives you a chance to be featured in my article. It also tells us that it gives me a chance to take a break when I'm short on time.
Now for our second to last installment in the RCFNARAAC story. In my last article I announced that I was going to have another RCFNARAAC, but this one would be on a much larger scale (and hopefully have more than one entrant.) This one has official rules, and will even have judges! Don't miss this incredible opportunity to compete in this RCFNARAAC! Here is the official announcement for this amazing competition:
http://honors9th.blogspot.com/2010/11/lucky-13.html
This tells us that I really do wish to use other's writing as well as my own. This also tells us that I am serious about continuing RCFNARAAC's. What it doesn't tell us is that all entries are due on the Monday before Thanksgiving, and the winner's story will be including in my article the day before Thanksgiving.
The final installment of our RCFNARAAC story is intriguing. This portion is the largest scale advertisement begging people to enter my RCFNARAAC. It was presented in a way that should have been mildly interesting, significantly random, and, in general, strange enough to please my readers. I won't post a link to this article, because, well, you're reading it.
And what does this tell us? It tells us to ENTER MY RANDOM-COMPETITION-FOR-NO-APPARENT-REASON-AT-ALL COMPETITION! In case you didn't read them the first time, the rules are on the post below.

Now, at this time, I am sad to say goodbye to the highly-respected writer of The Weekly Brief. We are so sad to see Taylor go. If you haven't already, go back and read her famous articles on potatoes and milk. They are absolutely brilliant. Goodbye, Taylor! It was a lot of fun to read your articles!
Peter Rosen
*This is pronounced erk-fun-ar-ak. Put the stress wherever you please. The 'u' shouldn't be heavly pronounced. If it is properly said, it should seem as if it isn't there. It is very fun to read this article and think (or say) RCFNARAAC in the aforementioned way whenever it appears.

Peter, I'm surprised that actually made sense to me. Taylor, we will miss you. AND WHAT ABOUT MY ENTRY TO THE LAST COMPETITION??? It took me a couple minutes to write that. :( Is the contest over yet or not Peter? Keep doing this and I won't enter anymore.
